Vintage Cowgirl was sort of something to put up there when i was craftin' some jean skirt, cross shirt, quilted hand bags for my booth in Amarillo. Now, i am consumed with more, dear to my heart kind of things, and I am considering a name change. Sort of like an identity crisis or personality funk. So, here we go... here are some thoughts...
the Celiac Cowgirl? To Be Or Gluten Free? hmmm... drawing a blank... anyone there?? does anyone read this thing?? we are about to be changing that up too. i am inspired (it may last for one night, but praise the Lord it hit me). HUGE! i am a working 8-5 mommy that just wants to be able to go snatch up her boys any time of the day. had it, didn't realize how great it was, lost it, and wishes to have it all back!! i am a dreamer! i am not okay with ho hum. i have had ho hum in some areas in the past and it is greatly overrated... not for me. no, i am no "rockstar" but i am a leader. i am creative. to a point, and then my sister takes over. she is a completer, that is a different post. i am in LOVE with our Father in Heaven. however, i am also in LOVE with going out, doing a jig, and having a drink.
i have something to offer this world. not behind a desk, four walls of a cubical, and an occassional dreamer of a student to be advised before me. i am inspired. i want to inspire. this is not inspiring...

it's about time...

i thought i would blog while at work. someone might randomly fall upon this post. if you do, please do not pass out. i know it has been forever. i am surfin' the web right now, looking for some inspiration as to things to get done this weekend...
brb. okay, had to go advise a student. so, other than advising the random over achiever, my day has been rather blah. we woke up late this morning. i mean, real late. like 7:45 was supposed to be sliding into my desk by then. had to get the hubby out to a wellness meeting, the boys dressed and loaded up, and mommy's face on all in way less than 15 minutes. wowzers! but we made it. i was 30 minutes late, but all is good.
i need to repost pictures, and i think it is time to change my background... as i am only a wantabee Vintage Cowgirl. in my dreams. really i am a late advising momma. ha ha! i will post more very, very soon!!

I am so sorry it has been so long!!!

I know not many will read this as it has been so long since i have blogged. However, I thought while I am sitting here in a hospital bed, plugged up with an i.v., and unable to go too far... i should journal my thoughts for the moment.
So, yes, i am in the hospital.

The one BIG kidney stone was spotted in an x-ray taken last fall when waiting on my Celiac Disease diagnoses. It was in my left kidney, but was too big to go anywhere. So the doc and I decided to not worry about it until i was finished going through the months and months trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Celiac disease.
I went back to my Urologist last week, and we decided that now that all of that testing was behind me we could proceed with the kidney stone. We had set a date for this coming friday for me to come into the hospital, stay one night, and have the stone pulvarized and sucked out.

Well, as fate would have it, that was not how it was going to work. At 5:00 am yesterday, Wednesday, Feb 25th, I woke up to excrutiating pain. It was ridiculous! Way worse than either labors with the boys... my back was burning, my leg had sharp pains going through it, and the pain just sizzled down towards my pelvic region! It was the worst pain i have ever felt.

We went to the emergency room that the doctor had suggested. They got me right in, and sent me down for a C T Scan. In the scan it showed that I did not have 1 kidney stone, but that I have 4 kidney stones!!! 1 of which had slipped out of my left kidney and is lodged in my uretur... hence all the excrutiating pain. Problem, that hospital did not accept our insurance. So I then, after lots and lots of pain meds, took a quick ambulance ride to another hospital in town. And, this is where I sit this Thursday morning.

The Physician's Assistant came in this morning and said that I would be here until Saturday. So for today, I am to eat, shower, and take a walking tour of the hospital hooked up with Morphine and Saline to my I.V. and play on the internet. Tomorrow, I will be here yet some more doing the same thing, except I will be having my procedure at 1 p.m. where they will be putting me under and taking me into surgery to pulverize the rest of my kidney stones. I will still have a small one in my right kidney, but they are not so worried about that one... Job Security for my Urologist and his P.A.

Until later... i hope this blog finds all that read it well! Ta ta for now!!!

Christmas 2008

For Christmas this year, we first went to visit the Big Man! We went out to Santaland on the weekend before Christmas to put in our last few wishes. We waited in line for an hour and 20 minutes!!! The boys did really well!

The little one had his final breakdown right outside of Santa's door, but I do not think Santa heard because he did not let on that my youngest buckaroo had been bad. HA!

As soon as we were done taking pictures, and Mrs. Claus gave the boys their peppermints our youngest was grinning from ear to ear. He was so impressed with that Mr. Santa. We then took a picture of my guys with baby Jesus! I love this picture! They could not believe it! They got everything they ever wanted!!! Or so they said that morning... which was the right answer! Santa had listened very closely!

That afternoon... after we had all taken a short morning nap... we went to Brownfield to visit the man's grandparents and eat lunch with our family! We had a great day, and the boys got to play with their new toys AND their cousin! Fun stuff!

On the 26th we packed up the car, and got on the road headed to Paris, TX, to see the fam! We got there, and the boys were so excited! They did so good on the 8 hour road trip... they knew they were going to see their Meme, Granddaddy, Granmommy, and favorite Aunt's and Uncle's!

I did not get any pictures on this trip for some reason! I thought I did, but I must have been so overwhelmed that I left my camera in the car! Bummer! We opened a TON of presents! Once again the boys were SPOILED ROTTEN! As always by my family! Then we ate dinner, and all spent the night at Granmommies house! Saturday, we got up had donuts and coffee at Meme and Grandaddy's and played with our loot! We then at lunch, gave lovin' and got on the road again!

We then headed to Rowlett to visit GDaddy and his crew! We had a great time! The guys played football out in the street, we ate dinner and then opened some presents! Our little clan spent the night at GDaddy and Janice's house, and then got to visit a little on Sunday.

Finally, about 1:30 pm we got back on the road to head towards Lubbock. We took our time and ventured by the old Stonewater Bend house. Well, i don't think since i started my new job at Tech!

I have been a little busy, but never too busy for you guys! My avid followers! HA HA!

Anyways, so tomorrow is Turkey day, and here i sit in my new cubicle. I do enjoy my new job and all that will be coming with it. Including 2 paid days for the holiday, opposed to unpaid holiday days. However, i must say, regardless, i am ready to hit the paved way. I have lots to do tonight including ordering some Scentsy orders, picking a few orders up, cooking the dressing for tomorrow's big meal, and getting to bed at a decent time.

I am sorry we are not able to be with all of our family for this holiday! However, we do get to spend the day with most of Dub's fam and then my sis and brother-in-law will be out here this weekend. Hopefully, once i put some time in here at the BIG school in town, maybe i can take a little more time off to be with those of you not in Lubbock!

I love you all! I do thoroughly enjoy Collegiate football games, especially here at Tech. I am not Tech alum as I transferred to NWOSU to be with Rdub, and finished my degree there. However, I will always love TTU, and as we now live here in Lubbock I do see us attending these home games regularly. It was too much fun! I cannot wait to get season tickets for the four of us next year, and start bringing the boys to these games. They will just love it! And, truly, I do not remember seeing so many little ones at the games when I was here, but Saturday it seemed like there were kiddos everywhere! Anyways, the game was good. We beat the Husker's in OT... which really was not necessary, but our defense and our offense just had a quite a day. Thank the Lord though, they got it all together at the very end and won it for us!

Go Red Raiders!!!

Green Chiles from New Mexico

a couple of weeks ago, Dub told me that one of his guys is bringing us some green chiles from New Mexico. i was not sure really what that all entailed but then he came in from work one night with a large styrofoam cooler full of roasted green chiles. it took us FOREVER to skin them, but they smelled oh so good...

so we peeled them, and then bagged them, and now they are happily freezing in our new deep freezer. and last weekend i sliced chicken breast in half, put some of the green chiles and some mozarella on the inside and "sandwiched" the chicken breast back together... i then seasoned the chicken breast... wrapped it in bacon with toothpicks... and baked it at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes... let me tell you, it was freakin' awesome!

Our neighbor is a sales man at a local furniture store, and informed us of the store's "garage sale" for their scratch & dent items. He called Dub & suggested that we come down and check out the selections on the friday before the sale. The headboard and footboard below were on a wall that had a sign on it that said "all items on this wall $10!!!" I about fell out!

So we went back in the store, and ordered the rails that match the set! We got the entire deal for $79 and some change!!! Talk about super duper excited!!!

So, here is the Dubster putting together the awesome, super cool black sleigh bed frame! I cannot believe it!!!
Then... the next day, we hit a garage sale bright and early. I was not completely overwhelmed until the owner asked me what i was looking for and i mentioned a set of bunk beds for my boys. She said she knew they had 2 sets in storage, and that if i came back she would get them out for me!
So we left there after Dub purchased a few fishin' rods. We then stopped at another sell on our way home and found a practically new stand up deep freezer for $75! I have yet to snap a pic of that fine beauty so until i do, she will just sleep in her newly cleaned garage and freeze my roasted green chiles! (*that will be another post... hopefully sometime soon*)

Later that afternoon, the boys, Aunt Carolyn and I went back to see if they had dug out their bunk beds. I was very pleased to see the red metal bunk bed frame leaning against the fence. I agreed on $50 for the owner, and paid her $20 to hold it until we could come back the next morning to pick them up... as the Dubster had gone about his way that afternoon and would not be available.

As we were leaving, the ladies daughter perked up that her mom was also selling the wooden swingset in her backyard that the boys had played on each time we visited their garage sale that day. I said oh really!?! She said my boys were the only kiddos that had played on it in a long time, and that she had thought of me after we had left earlier that morning. So i asked the owner how much she would like to get for the set... she said $100!!! I thought are you kidding! Wooden sets are upwards of 350 or more with wood and all! I told her I would have to discuss it with the honey, but that I was greatly interested! We left quite excited!!!

So, the next morning, once dub and i agreed to add the swingset to the weekends purchases... we went back to their house so that he could look at the bunk beds. While there we negotiated a few more "small" items to add to our grand total! SO... I do not have pictures of the bunks in the boys room yet, because they are still leaning against the fence in OUR backyard. However, below are the pictures of our new, reasonably priced wooden swing set and one of the boys other favorite last minute adds from the weekends garage sale extravaganza!

This is what we like to call Fabulous Treasures!!!

Friday Night at the Chisum Home

So this evening i got out the new camera and got some funny ones of the ol' family! First, there is Dub trying to watch the Cowboy's game, and me wanting pictures so that was pretty funny...

... he was not so excited about me possibly posting his picture. But when you have a man, that you can call your own, and he is just so dang handsome... you got to show him off to people that might want to see just how handsome your husband really is! I have tried to explain this to him, but if any of you see him anytime soon.... could you just simply express to him how much you enjoy seeing his handsome face as well!?! I think he was expecting this camera to just be used on the boys, as was the case when they were newborns... but now it is back on him... So finally in trying to explain all of this... i got one of these...

... a good ol' Rdubya grin! i love him!

SO, THEN...

Came the Monster Jam Rally in the boys bathroom!

I had no idea that not only had the event been planned in our house, but even more so in the boys bathroom sink! It was quite an event and therefore I had no choice, but to snap fast pictures of the outstanding 2 year old and 4 year old commentators at the Monster Truck Rally! Who knew such an event could be going on in my very own home without my even having a clue!

Now you must notice the serious, intent looks on these boys faces. The buckaroos are growing up way too fast, and i think i am missing it. I know, i know. We just need to simply pick up another one...
We joined a local gym chain this week so that we could start working out again, and so that we could take the boys to their awesome pool. They are so excited. It really is the most cost effective way to be able to enjoy a pool in West Texas. Otherwise... the upkeep and dirt and wind, oh my!
So last thought for the morning...
fresh home grown zucchini... is what I am really thinking about this morning. I know... really random! But we have some from a family that are patients of Dr. B's, and they let us come out and pick all we want (and of all other fabulous vegetable garden treasures). So I am frying up some zucchini for dinner if anyone would like to stop by... ha ha yea right!

Tonight... one last message before to bed...

Thank you, Sister, for updating my blogspot! You are the best! I love it!

SO I have decided and registered to take the English 8-12 Content Mastery TExES Exam on Saturday, August 2nd. This means prayers may begin... I told my sister the other day that I do not think I studied like this in high school or in college. It is amazing the motivation that comes in two innocent and precious faces. I am just so greatful that there are programs like this out there... for those of us that have our heads up our butts during those years of what do I major in to achieve my purpose in this life. I mean really! Sometimes, since we are here in Lubbock, I have to admit that sometimes I have thought about going in and finding that advisor that suggested that I continue on in Sociology! WHAT!!! I distinctly remember it going something like this is a GREAT field, you are talented in these courses, and there are many options for someone with a Bachelor Degree in Sociology!!! It's a good thing that I do not distinctly remember that woman's name.It is also good that I realize she was very well simply fulfilling her position as one in an education profession and possibly even as a mom... I just only wish I would have put two and two together then. Now it all makes perfect sense. Of course she could say that... she was not out there trying to find a job, make a living, and spend limited time with babies with that Sociology degree. However, either way, I am just glad I get a chance to redeem that BA in Sociology for something that will allow me some time with my buckaroos.
We (me and the Dubster) are aware that tests are not my most favorite thing to do with my time, but I am commited. We (me, the Dubster, and my lucky rabbit's foot in my pocket) are also aware that there could be a chance that I just blow this one. The test will tell.
In the mean time, I am working my behind literally off at the office, chasing after all my Cowboys in the evenings, and pulling some late nights here on the web researching English literature, metacognition, classical allusions, and TExES free study guides.
I love the internet... I would be stuck in a Sociology rut without it... oh, and I love my Bro and Sister in law for informing of the site to apply for the alternative certification.
So enough of the talking to no one but the inner self that is telling myself I better get studying before I crash... this will be all for now!

All is really going well on the homefront out here in "Lou-bock!" We are online again which I am so much more excited for than I really thought I would be... hence, I am on her at 5:55 am so that I can get a few words in before the cowboys rise!
I am contemplating a few things this very morning, and am not sure which direction to go. I have been accepted to an alternative certification program to be able to become an educator. Now, anyone that knows me, knows that I have just done about everything in my power to avoid this obvious thing here that is about to happen. You see, I come from a family of educators by choice, and I thought that I would just never go down that path. Not that there is anything in the world wrong with teaching. It's just when you hear for your entire life all the negative about the field it makes you think that maybe you should not go there. However, I am now a mom, with a Sociology degree, and working as an Optician. Not that that any of that is bad either... I am just looking for my purpose here.
Did you know that teacher's have THE best schedule in consideration of the family. I did not realize this as much as a spoiled young lady with a mom that put herself on the back burner so that she would not be required to stray too far from her young. Now that I have young of my own, I feel guilty each morning as I have to go and drop them off to someone else at 7:50 am (the very last possible minute) so that I can go try to make all of an hourly rate with no benefits... not to mention they are there (these two precious souls, that I was allowed to create) until sometimes 6 and 6:30 pm.
SOOOO, with all that said, I have been accepted to the alternative certification program, and my stump... is that i cannot decide what content mastery area to take my cert exams in so that I can get this show on the road. And in this, i feel the usual procrastination that takes over my body when i feel as if i am coming to yet another crossroad in this thing called life.

All I can think now as I really need to get off of this soap box is that He never said it was going to be easy, He only said it would be worth it.

It has been ONE not so full year of blogging!

So we are back up on the internet! And, we realized last night that more has been stolen from there. We are not living in the house yet, but we have moved some of our stuff over there. Nothing too, too major is gone... like my china hutch or anything. Just a bunch of Rdub's tools, our weedeater, a decent sized air compressor, a bicycle, and few other odds and ends. I just cannot believe that there are people out there that will walk up to a house that they do not live in, and take things. No one has entered the house. This was all in the garage. Nice, huh!?! So needless to say, my husband is ready to whoop some hiney. But other than that, all is good in the hood so far.
We still have a long way to go, but are closer than we were almost a month ago. It takes a while on this stuff when you are the laborers also chasing boys.
I hope this blog finds you all good.

Sister came through... as always!!!

I love my sister. WOOODEEEWOODEEHOO!
I am excited over electricity! LOL! I know! But this means that I will be able to Rainbow! Get it smelling better! Really get to clean! R can fix the A/C unit! We can air up the John Deere with the air compressor! And, we can dance to music all at the same time as painting, painting, painting!!!
My sweet sister and brother in law are going to BRING us some new cabinets to put in the kitchen so we are going to demolish the delapidated cabinets that are there, and we are going to switch the washer and dryer hookup from in the middle of the kitchen to out in the garage! HUGE! So our dirty underwear are not the first things you see when you walk in! LOL!
We are looking for a used stove/stovetop for the kitchen as it does not have one. It is ready for gas or electric so if anyone has one that would be great. I would also take a used dishwasher if anyone wants to get rid of one. I went and painted, and cleaned a little on the house yesterday. Today I feel like I have literally been whooped by a big, burly man!!! I am so tired, and my boys already took naps at school and daycare so they are ready to party. This mom thing is extra hard when you just want to drop, and they are waiting for you to pass out any minute so that they can go tag team on your head. (And believe me, they do do that! ugh!)
Anyways, so we have had a great day, and we are now waiting for Dub to get home so that we can go get some more work done on the rent house.
I hope everyone is fabulous and has had a great day!

Paris, Texas

Well, here we are in my home town, and finally seeing the end of the tunnel. I think. It has been a long tunnel, but the end is coming I do believe.
We will be steadily working in the new abode all next week. I am so ready to have a place for just the Chisum clan once again. The house in Amarillo is still on the market, and we are praying that just any day now someone will walk into that house and feel at home as we did. I did love that house, however I know from all of our moves that the family is the "home." A cardboard box truly could feel as a home as long as all that are in it are in love with each other. I just cannot wait to get the boys trampoline up, and the place cleaned and repainted. That will be wonderful to just have a place to call our own once again.
Our little guys have gone through a lot with this move, and I am so proud of them. When people say that kids are resilient they are not kidding. T and T are just as ready as Dub and I are to get somewhere and be still, but they also have done great in every situation.
I truly cannot believe we are back here though. I am constantly saying that to Dub. He loves it here! He got an offer to go to Atlanta next week to interview for another railroad, and he would rather not. I am like... hello!... continue our railroad retirement, but he is now ready to settle and sit still. I have to hand it to him, I think our lesson in pride over this summer has really sunk in more for him than it truly has for me.
So it looks like for now, and possibly forever Paris is our home town as a family now too.
I am still in shock!

This whole relocating thing!

Well, first and foremost. We are all fine and well at Brenda's place. Thank the Lord for the roof over our heads, and enjoying the little things that need to be done around here. At least I feel like I am helping out a little bit, and not hendering the entire existence here in gay Paris!

The man is working his behind off doing some day labor type construction work. I think he is THE hardest worker that I have ever met! This guy will do whatever it takes to provide for us and I am truly greatful. Oh... ok... now where was I. I normally can get off on a tangent about my wonderful husband.

I put in for a couple of jobs today. And, I have an interview on Thursday for a little preschool where the boys could attend for free if I teach there. Isn't it funny how life works. Our Father in Heaven must think it pretty funny that I am catching this little coincidence in my life. You see my mom worked at a preschool when we were all little, and stayed there teaching for 26 years. Well, so you see I am now feeling more and more like my mother. I have given her the hardest time for most of my existence, and I feel a lesson coming on. Anyways, so we will see if I take that one or if i can possible getting a teaching job in the area. No, I do not have my degree, however I am looking into my certification so that I can get a better paying job for this area.

We, as usual, have many irons in the fire, and are doing our best not to burn them at both ends. However, the man and I both are extremely exhausted, and are ready for this whole transition to be over.

I pray that all of you are doing well!
I am off to spend some tv time with the man!

I have been "tagged!"

Okay, SiSter!

I have been TaGgEd!!!

If you find yourself "tagged" like me, here are the rules you must follow.
The Meme Rules:

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their 8 things) and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 8 people to get tagged & list their names.
5. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

HuH, Uh! I cannot believe I am doing this...

HaBiT #1 - I bite my fingernails. Horribly nasty, I know. I have tried and tried to break it, but still a nasty habit.

HaBiT #2 - I am totally non confrontational. SO Procrastination is a big problem when there is something that needs to really be taken care of or dealt with.

HaBiT #3 - I think this one goes way back to our disfunctional family. BUT, anytime me and the main man, my husband, have a slight tiff, I begin to think our marriage is doomed. I do this all the time, and he must really love me because I know the constant nag of "is this it!?!" really must get old.

HaBiT #4 - Similar to #3! I over exagerate EVERYTHING. Poor guy!

HaBiT #5 - I do not like, and often will not go to sleep until my hubby and I pray together. It is something we started early in our marriage, and it just makes me feel like all is right in the world.

HaBiT #6 - I like to eat my Twix candy bars in layers.

HaBiT #7 - hmmm. Oh, and I like to pick all the good stuff that falls off of the pizza and on to the box and eat it.

HaBiT #8 - I cannot leave my hair alone. Right now we are working on getting this house ready to go on market. I have been painting nonstop since we pulled into town Monday at 3:30pm. The exterior is done. The ranch no longer has royal blue trim, it is now stylish. And the inside is just almost done! We will have it finished all on friday and outta here!!!LOL! If i had a camera that worked, i would get pictures up! But, since not for now...
We just want this one to sell quickly!!!
We have found 11 acres and a little farm house that we would like to purchase back east (lol) but will have to wait until this one is sold! SO everybody start praying!
So I am off to finish painting the trim, and finish up the master bath!

Oh and I miss my Tucker John! He is at his Aunt Mandy's for the week, and loving every minute of it. I love that we are going to be so so much closer that he can go see his Aunt Mandy and Uncle Jason, and Uncle Jason and Aunt Kristen, and Granmommy, Memee, Grandaddy, and GDaddy any time!!!

What a sweet life i live!
love you guys!

God bless my little Baby Kate!

For all of you who know me, know that I have been in love with a little Boston Terrier for the last 8 years. My friend Blake and I found her in a Lubbock pet store, as she was not only the runt of her litter but the only girl. She was whooping her brothers butts and taking names. I took her home, i took her to church, i took her to our Campus Crusade meetings at Tech.
About a week after i had her, she started having epileptic seizures. I thought I was going to lose her then, however, the vet told me that i could put her down, take her back to the pet store or keep her and she would have to be on meds for a while. Well, I kept her, how could i have not, and we loved each other intensely. She was always with me and loved to ride in my lap to and from Paris/Dallas and Lubbock. Actually everywhere we went, she was in my lap.
She slept with me for the most part of the last 8 years, moved with me and RW to Oklahoma, Ft Worth, California and back to Texas. She was precious to me. She would dance for treats, clean her paws before she fell asleep at night, and loved to rub her nose on the couch.
I love my Kate Bug!
Well, Kate went to be with our Lord yesterday. We are in Denton at my sisters, and had to come to Paris by Friday so that we could attend a funeral of a very dear family friend of ours. We had thought about bringing my little Kate with us, but knew we would be back to Amarillo shortly. Just a weekend trip, and we had left her many times before with Duke and Ginger, our other two pooches in the back yard. RW's brother had to come out to our house yesterday, and found Kate deceased in the back yard. He was going to bury her for us, and called to let us know.
I am in shock, and really sad. She was MY first doggie, and as much as I love Ginger and Duke, I think I am ready to be out of the dog business due to this loss.
If anyone of you or anyone you know would be interested in a Boston Terrier free to a loving home, Duke is a precious and beautiful Boston. He is just not very well potty trained, so he has been outside for the last year. However, he has a great disposition, and loves everybody especially kids & he is 6 years old.
Ginger is a mix breed of Catahoula and Blue Heeler. She is free to a good and loving home as well. She has not been fixed, and is about a year old.
Anyways, if anyone knows of anyone please let me know.
Please pray that our getting home and knowing that Kate is no longer there will not be as hard as i think it may be.
I love you guys. I am so thankful for the time i had with her sweet little personality.
May God Bless her little soul!

We love our land, but...

It is a booger and greatly exhausting to mow 3 acres of it. Even on my ole John Deere. So that is what is on the agenda for me with shuffling and checking on kiddos in between rows. Then errands, then lunch, then nap time, and then it is time to get the house straightened up to get ready for dinner and daddy coming home. Whew!!! I am already tired. I would love to go crawl back in right now, but that is simply out of the question. So I guess i need to be heating up the coffee pot, cause it is going to be a long day!
I pray that you guys all have a blessed and busy day as well!
love,
Amy

Good Morning

I was on here looking around at other blogs, and found a cool little additive at http://easy-hit-counters.com/. This way you can see just how many people take a look at your blogspot.
Today is Friday! Thank the Lord! You know He loves fridays too!
I am off to craft. I am in the middle of making soldered pendant beaded necklaces and bracelets. It is lots of fun, however soldering is not the easiest craft to pick up.
I need to get at least a few done this morning to go place in my booth at the local craft mall. Then, I need to reprice some items, and "redecorate" with the items that are still there. I really thought that this craft mall thing would be lots of fun. Which i guess in a sense it is pretty good preparation for when I choose to open the doors to my shop.
That is my personal goal for the end of this year, to have all ready to go to open up at least a website if not also a store front of my own by the first quarter of next year. We will see.
So, I better get working on my chunky jewelry for now. As soon as I can get my silly digital camera a going i will be putting pics on here to share with you of my lovey wrangler minis and my chunky cowgirl jewelry.
Until then...
love,
Amy

how cute is this blog site!?!

My sister is the best!
I want to know why we sit here though and write to ourselves? I simply adore him, and all that he provides for our family. He asks that I keep the house clean, and make sure he has clean socks and underwear. How hard can that be!?!
I have just about accomplished keeping a schedule on the house cleaning and the laundry. However, my marriage has been consistently perplexing over the last month.
You see my husband and I have joined a church that WE BOTH LOVE. I say that in bold face because this is the first time that we have both greatly, greatly enjoyed a church and are walking in our faith together... at the same time, within our relationship. We have had a great time together all along, but where we were at in our christianity was a bit questionable. Well, now we have got all that together and are both loving every minute of our relationship with our Father.
HOWEVER, it never fails that we get through our "in the moment trial" and then here comes another one. We both know that it is obviously Satan himself trying to yank us backwards again. WHICH IS JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN SO HE NEEDS TO GO ABOUT HIS WAY FROM US!
But man alive! I have always thought that all of our moves across the country were what would bring us closer together, and as that has added it's fair share of strength to our relationship... we now know that getting through the devil's trickery that he plays on marriages when things are so good, and continuing to praise our Lord in Heaven for EVERYTHING that is insurpassable without Him will be challenging BUT forever worth it!
I am so in love with my husband. Satan can just move on over, because he can not have him or me or my kiddos. None of us are for bartering so he can just go on from here. I am tired of challenges and so ready to see the other side of marriage.

And, yes, July 27th is our fifth year wedding anniversary.

Stay at home mommy-hood

I do love being a stay at home mom. I had a month, really two, that i went back to work to a job that was a blessing. However, my sick little cowboys did not embrace the daycare experience so here we are again... at the "ranch" together... happily.
HOWEVER, as much as I adore my buckaroos, greatly appreciate the fact that I can stay home and raise them, and am so very thankful for my beautiful home....
I AM READY FOR A VACATION!!!
I need to get out of here, and take a break. It really would do all of us some good.
I will take my husband with me, because i have been blessed with him as my bestfriend. And, honestly, I would rather he be with me all the time. That is if we could go without having the occassional urge to strangle each other. But, i think in more ways than one we have somewhat eliminated any obvious reasons for wanting to act on that kind of behavior. So, i think now it is time to let the good times roll, and get the heck out of dodge!
Until then, I need to go do some work on skirts for my booth, and hopefully soon to be a website by my beautiful, talented, and smart sister.
I hope this rambling nonsense finds you to be having a super blessed day!

Californian Born West Texas Cowboy

Well, let's see this will be my first blog. My sister always gets into these things, and then wants me to check it out until i am convinced i should get involved as well. So, here it goes...

Tucker John and Tanner Robert were both born in California. However, you would never know it if you heard Tucker John's accent. He has got the funniest West Texas accent, and I just love it!

When I met my husband, RW (that's right! West Texas through and through) he had the thickest West Texas accent. You see I am from East Texas, and yes, there is a difference... a pretty distinctive difference if you are from around here. Now our two littlest cowboys have picked up the local lingo, and it is just so sweetly affectious that I melt anytime i notice their little twangs.

Tanner Robert, our littlest buckaroo's favorite song is E-I-E-I-O. Granted he is only 16 months old, he sings his E-I-E-I-O for everything... even sometimes as he is crying!!! Too, too sweet.

Anyways, so i was just talking to my sister, as we were setting up this, my new blogging (not clogging, though it sort of feels like that) site, and we were discussing how funny things are that my little man, Tucker John (3)says.

I will soon be posting pictures so that I can share just how cute my main cowboy, and our two little buckaroos are, and really getting into the swing of things here, however blog back and we will see where this thing really goes.
